For 80 years the St. Augustine light keepers and families have lived there. There were about 15 adults and children at the house. One time in 1955 the lighthouse was auto mated and a keeper was no longer needed.
110,000 people have visit the Lighthouse in St. Augustine every year. The light house is always open for the public and those who wants to know the history.
